Welcome to our site!

Take time to become acquainted with your county government. We hope what you find here gives you an idea of the importance we place on community involvement as we strive to serve each citizen of St. Francois County in the best way possible.

St. Francois County is a county located in the Lead Belt region in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 65,359. The largest city and county seat is Farmington. The county was officially organized on December 19, 1821.

Established by Missouri Statute, there are three commissioners in St. Francois County. All county business, including financial, road operations, budgeting, security and courthouse management, must go through the Commission. The Commission office is open Monday thru Friday 8 am to 4 pm. Public commission meetings are held every Tuesday morning at 10 am.

St Francois Co Assessors Office

On 03-31-2020 our office has resumed the process of reviewing the parcels in the County.
However, due to the continuance of Social distancing and the safety of our field crew, they will be knocking on the door and stepping off the porch to announce their presence before beginning. Part of the reviewing process is to also update photos of the front and back of residence.If you have any questions or concerns, please call our office at (573) 756-1878. Our office hours are 8 -4 Monday thru Friday.

Due to the concerns with the Coronavirus, we will not be following our normal procedure of knocking on doors to announce our presence before reviewing property and updating photos. Due to COVID-19 the St. Francois County Collector Office will be closed to the public until further notice. You can pay online at SFCGOV.ORG/COLLECTOR or you can use the drop box or call us at 573-756-2645. Receipts will be mailed.  Thank you.

ATTENTION CUSTOMERS

Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, our office will be temporarily closed to the public as of March 23rd, 2020 until Friday April 3, 2020.

We will still be accepting all incoming mail and e-recordings.  If you are needing to hand deliver a document for recording, apply for a marriage license or pick up a marriage license that has already been paid for, please contact our office for further instruction.

Abstractors that are needing to complete title searches, please call our office for instruction as well.  Please keep in mind we do have online access as well as offering to email, fax or mail copies of documents to customers.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we are all working through this difficult time and we will be keeping a close eye on the situation and making the necessary changes as time progresses.

St. Francois County RAVE Mobile Safety

The RAVE system is used to send emergency notifications, from evacuation notices to missing child alerts. Residents and businesses located within St. Francois County are encouraged to sign up for RAVE to be sure they receive timely emergency notifications and other important information and instructions when alerts are issued.

When you enroll in the RAVE system, alerts are issued to you by your geographical location. Alerts can be sent to your cell phone, land line, by text, and email.  With RAVE, you get the option of also receiving the RAVE Weather Warning. These alerts are automatically generated when the National Weather Service issues a warning for your location. You get to choose which alerts you receive!  This early warning could prove to be lifesaving.

The RAVE alert system is free to St. Francois County residents. To sign up for RAVE, click on the link at the bottom of this text. It will only take a few minutes to enjoy a service that just may save your life.
