St. Francois County is a county located in the Lead Belt region in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 65,359. The largest city and county seat is Farmington. The county was officially organized on December 19, 1821.

Established by Missouri Statute, there are three commissioners in St. Francois County. All county business, including financial, road operations, budgeting, security and courthouse management, must go through the Commission. The Commission office is open Monday thru Friday 8 am to 4 pm. Public commission meetings are held every Tuesday morning at 10 am.

A budget hearing will be held on 12-17-2019 at 10:00 am.  There is also a hard copy of the proposed budget kept in the Auditor’s office for viewing or you may click on Proposed 2020 Budget below to view.

On 01-14-2020 the Commission approved the following to be posted for 10 business days per statute.

Per state statute 50.783 St. Francois County Government intends to waive competitive bid – single feasible source purchase – requirements to upgrade its antiquated internal security notification hardware system from our current vendor SecureTech Systems Inc.  Respond by January 28th 2020, 10:00 am (cst) if you believe your company offers a similar product.  Specifications on intended purchase can be obtained from Dan Duncan at dduncan@sfcgov.org
