To Apply for a Marriage License
You can now fill out all of your application information online before coming to our office. Please see the attached link to begin the application process.
Once you have filled out and saved your information you should receive email verification. Please bring that in to our office to complete the application process and pick up your license.
We will need both parties to appear with photo ID and the application fee in order to sign your application and pick up your license. A blood test is not needed and a waiting period is not required. Original signatures are required from both parties. If one party is not a U.S. citizen, a valid government issued ID is needed. The license must be used within 30 days of being issued. The license must be returned to our office within 15 days of being used. If for any reason the license is not used, please return the license to the office of the Recorder of Deeds.
ALL MARRIAGE LICENSES ISSUED IN OUR OFFICE MUST BE USED IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI.
Marriage License Application Process
New Marriage Law Requirements
License $51.00 CASH OR DEBIT/CREDIT with a minimum $2.00 convenience fee. Fee to be paid at the time of application.
Underage Applicant $1.00 additional fee for each.
Certified Copy of Marriage License $9.00 – A certified copy of marriage license is as good as your original. Used for any legal purpose including renewing driver’s license and social security.

Your Military Discharge should be brought to the Recorder of Deeds of the county you live in to be recorded. Be sure to have Member 1 and Member 4 Forms for recording. (The Member # should be at the bottom right hand corner of your document.)
There is no fee for recording your Military Discharge. There is no fee for providing a veteran with a copy of his/her Discharge. If original recorded Discharge is lost, a certified copy can be obtained in our office.
Recorded Discharges and the Index Books for Discharges are not available to the public for on-site inspection or copy purchase.

DOCUMENTS WHICH DO NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS:
FROM JANUARY 1, 2002, DOCUMENTS WHICH DO NOT MEET THE REQUIRED STANDARDS SET FORTH BY THIS SECTION MAY BE RECORDED FOR A FEE OF TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS OVER AND ABOVE THE STATUTORY RECORDING FEES.
DOCUMENTS EXEMPTED FROM THE NON-STANDARD FEE:
(1) DOCUMENTS WHICH WERE SIGNED PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 2002;
(2) MILITARY SEPARATION PAPERS;
(3) DOCUMENTS EXECUTED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES;
(4) CERTIFIED COPIES OF DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING BIRTH AND CERTIFICATES;
(5) ANY DOCUMENT WHERE ONE OF THE ORIGINAL PARTIES IS DECEASED OR OTHERWISE INCAPACITATED;

ALL DOCUMENTS PRESENTED FOR RE-RECORDING MUST MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE LISTED STANDARD REQUIREMENTS ( INCLUDING MARGINS, LEGIBILITY, AND FIRST PAGE INFORMATION) AS IF BEING PRESENTED AS A NEW DOCUMENT. MUST INCLUDE NEW COVER SHEET AND STATE WHY THE DOCUMENT IS BEING RE-RECORDED. A RE-ACKNOWLEDGMENT FROM NOTARY.

Federal and State Tax Liens and Releases are recorded in our office.
Copies of these may be obtained by written request or by coming into our office.
The fees for these copies are $1.00 per page.
Uniform Commercial Codes (UCC’S) that include real estate are still filed at county level. UCC’s that do not include real estate must be sent to the Secretary of State.
Honor Rewards is a community outreach rewards program for local Veterans.
