St. Francois County Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program

HOW TO SIGN UP:

ENROLLMENT begins on Monday, March 2, 2026, and ends Friday, May 29, 2026. You will need to apply in-person at the St Francois County Collector’s office, 1 W. Liberty St., Ste 201 (2nd Floor), Farmington,  MO. We will enroll seniors each day from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Closed on these days:

       April 3, 2026…………..Friday…………………Good Friday

                            May  8, 2026………..…Friday…….…Truman’s Birthday

       May 25, 2026………….Monday….………..Memorial Day

WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING?

      1. Your photo ID (Driver’s License or other government-issued photo ID)
      2. If your home is in a trust, you must bring the trust
      3. If your home is in an LLC, you must bring the operating agreement

WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS?

We request that both spouses on the deed apply in-person. NOTE: Enrollment does not require an appointment. There will be crowds. To save time, we suggest you wait until the lines are shorter – after the first week or two of each enrollment month.

When you arrive at the collector’s office you will be greeted and given a number along with a short application to complete. When the next enrollment station is ready, you will present your ID (and your trust agreement if your property is in a trust) and then sign an affidavit declaring your homestead’s address.

HOW TO RENEW?

To renew your application, please complete the renewal form and submit it either in person at the Collector’s Office located in the Courthouse Annex, or by mail to:

Farmington, MO 63640.
The renewal must be received by May 31, 2026.

Mail-In Submissions:
If you are mailing your renewal, be sure to include a copy of your driver’s license or another government-issued ID along with the completed application. Also, remember to sign the form before sending it.

Important Note for Trusts and LLCs:

  • If your homestead was originally held in a Trust or LLC in 2025 and there have been any changes, please include documentation reflecting those changes.

  • If your property is now held in a Trust or LLC and it wasn’t the case when you first applied, kindly provide the relevant paperwork.
