On Tuesday May 7th 2019 County / City Emergency Management representatives, elected officials and first responders with St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Washington and Perry counties participated in a Mass Casualty Table Top Exercise at the St. Francois County Emergency Operations Center. The State Emergency Management Agency training division provided the exercise event. This tabletop exercise provided participants with an opportunity to work through a mass casualty scenario in the Response phase. This scenario was aimed at immediate response portion of a transportation-related event that requires input from all Region C-Rural South counties to adequately respond to the incident. It was a great opportunity in collaborating and training with other jurisdictions. Unfortunately, mass casualty events occur and we need to prepare for any such events to see that victims and family members are taken care of properly.
